Your body is not a mystery you have to solve alone

The science behind your symptoms — so you can stop guessing, advocate for yourself, and make decisions that actually make sense for your body

Trusted by 1,650 women navigating PCOS across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and beyond

You've been doing the research. You're still guessing.

You got the diagnosis. And then — for most women — you were sent home with a prescription, a suggestion to lose weight, or a reminder to 'eat well and exercise.' Nothing that gave you a real picture of what was going on inside your body or why.

So you did what most women do. You went looking for answers yourself.

You've searched. You've read. You've tried supplements, adjusted your diet, changed your exercise routine. You've come across ten contradictory things and had no way of knowing which to trust. You may have tried everything consistently — and still felt like your body wasn't responding.

That's not a failure of effort. It's a failure of information.

When you know the mechanism — what is actually driving your symptoms and why — everything shifts. You stop second-guessing every decision. You stop feeling like your body is working against you. You go into appointments knowing what to ask, what to push back on, and what the evidence actually says.

That's the difference this makes.

"I'm at a bit of a loss on where to start to look after myself."
"I've tried everything — and I still feel like my body isn't working with me."
"They wanted to manage my periods. Nothing about the hair loss, nothing about the unwanted hair. Nothing about the pain."
"I just want to know what's actually going on."

These are the words women use when they talk about their PCOS experience. If any of them feel familiar, this was made for you.

Science that gives you back control — not a protocol that tells you what to do

Every mechanism is evidence-based, and we're honest about what we don't yet know. Because the most empowering thing isn't false certainty — it's an accurate picture of where the science is strong, where it's emerging, and what that means for you.

THE MECHANISM

What is actually happening in your body, and what the research tells us about why. Not a surface-level summary. The real biology, explained in a way that respects your intelligence.

WHAT WORKS

A clear-eyed look at the evidence behind every intervention: lifestyle changes, supplements, and medication options. What the science supports, what it doesn't, and what's still being debated.

STORIES FROM WOMEN LIKE YOU

Drawn from years of conversations with the PCOS community, because seeing your experience reflected back by someone who has been there matters as much as the science.

You won't finish a module with a rigid plan or a 30-day protocol. You'll finish it feeling connected to your body, clear on what's actually driving your symptoms, and genuinely equipped to make decisions — and have conversations with your doctor — that are grounded in evidence, not guesswork.

The Foundation Module — Your PMOS: The Full Picture

Before symptoms, there's a system. This module unpacks what PCOS/PMOS actually is at a biological level — the key mechanisms that connect all of it (insulin resistance, androgens, the ovarian cycle, the HPA axis) and why it shows up so differently in different women. The context that makes everything else click into place.

The Androgen Problem

Acne and excessive hair in PCOS

You've probably tried creams, washes, and topical treatments. Maybe you've been on Duac or the pill, or you're managing with daily shaving while wondering if there's ever a real answer. Behind both acne and unwanted hair growth is one mechanism: androgens. This module gives you the full picture of what's driving it — so you can stop cycling through guesswork and start having informed conversations about what actually works.

The Metabolism Mystery

Weight and energy in PCOS

Weight in PCOS is not a willpower problem — it's a physiology problem. Many women eat well, exercise consistently, and still feel like their body isn't responding. This module gives you the biological explanation for why — insulin resistance, its relationship to PCOS, and how it changes the way your body stores and uses energy. So you can stop blaming yourself and start advocating for the right kind of support.

This module goes deep into what a regular cycle actually requires, what disrupts it in PCOS, and what genuinely influences cycle regularity — so you can walk into any conversation about your cycle feeling grounded in the evidence, not dependent on whatever your doctor has time to tell you.

The Fatigue Loop

Exhaustion in PCOS

Fatigue in PCOS is real, documented, and multi-layered — and it's rarely just about sleep. This module unpacks the main contributors: blood sugar dysregulation, the HPA axis, inflammation, and sleep disruption — and crucially, why they compound each other in ways that make standard advice feel useless.

The relationship between PCOS, sex hormones, cortisol, and the brain is real and well-documented. This module gives you that missing explanation — so you can recognise what's hormonal, advocate for the right kind of support, and stop feeling like your mental health is separate from everything else.

Why I built this

I spent years writing about PCOS before I had a name to put to what I was learning. Over 3.5 years, I published more than 200 articles on the condition — its mechanisms, its symptoms, its contradictions — all grounded in the research literature and all written with one goal: to give women the picture their GP didn't have time to give them.

I'm a qualified Nutritional Therapist (CNM, 2022) and a product manager by background. I'm not a doctor. I don't diagnose or treat. What I do is read the research carefully, synthesise it honestly, and present it in a way that respects your intelligence and gives you something you can actually use.

This is what I wish had existed when I first started trying to make sense of my own health.

— Francesca, founder of Leya Health

A note on what this is — and what it isn't

This is science communication, not medical advice. It will give you a deeper, more accurate picture of your symptoms than most resources you'll find — but it will not diagnose you, prescribe anything, or replace your relationship with your healthcare provider.

In fact, one of its purposes is to make those conversations better. When you know what's driving your symptoms, you can ask better questions, push back when something doesn't add up, and advocate for the care you actually need.

All content is evidence-based and referenced. Where research is limited or actively debated, that's clearly stated.
